Oh, to be wallpaper, the stories they could tell. Taking in the whispers - and the leathery odour - of the old Soho cigar bars, eavesdropping in the quaint tea rooms of Bloomsbury, softly overseeing the family debates in the cul-de-sacs of Saint-Émilion. Side-eye glances at the goings-on in the Crosby Street. 

Sondo never understood - nor agreed with -  the notion that someone perceived as a tad boring or uninteresting is described as ‘wallpaper’. Wallpaper is fantastic. It’s creative, bold, and brings a room to life, commanding attention. Yes, people ARE wallpaper. They are unique, they stand out and draw people in. They catch your eye, they tease, they question.

Sondo says be unique. Be wallpaper. 

Sondo can be found meandering through said bars, dance halls, and cocktail lounges. Marvelling at the colourful characters within, ready to depict.

Sondo means ‘Born on a Sunday, even though Sondo was actually born on a Monday. However, according to astrology, people born on a Sunday are considered lucky, so that’s close enough.
